4.9 Region Menu:


The Region menu commands allow you to manipulate the audio in the selected region or regions. Some special commands in this menu are:


Merge (Shift + M): This option will render all the selected regions in a single track.

     

To Merge Regions:

  • Select the regions you would like to merge by dragging the arrow through the timeline or pressing Command + Click on the desired regions.



  • Go to REGION > MERGE (Shift + M)


  • All your regions will be rendered in a new track.



Consolidate to New Track (Shift + M): This command will group all selected regions to a new track. This function is very useful before rendering or merging all of your regions.


To Consolidate a New Track:

  • Select all the regions you would like to consolidate by dragging the arrow through the timeline or pressing Command + Click on the desired regions.



  • Go to REGION >  CONSOLIDATE TO NEW TRACK or press Option + M



  • All the regions will be grouped in a new track.



Mini Effects (Shift + G): Opens up small effects window on the audio clip when a region is selected. Here you can adjust gain levels, pitch shift, pan, set BPM and add up to six plugins.



Choose Replacement (Shift + R): Brings up a mini version of the library where you can quickly audition sounds while in the timeline.



Randomize:

  • Selected Items (Command + R): Brings in random audio clips based on replace settings to selected regions only.
  • Everything (Option + R): Replaces all audio regions with random audio clips based on replace settings.
  • With Longer (Command + Up arrow): Replaces audio region with a longer audio region.
  • With Shorter (Command + Down arrow): Replaces audio region with a shorter audio region.


Divide on Markers (Command + D): Creates individual elements from the boundary markers within the stems. A definition of elements and stems will be explained later in the manual.


Set Master Tempo From Region (Shift + T): Sets the tempo of a selected region as the tempo for the entire project.


Align (Shift + A): Aligns the start of all selected regions using the first region selected as a reference.


Align To Sync (Option + Shift + A): Aligns selected sync markers using the first region selected as reference.  


Snap To Current Timeline (Control + Shift + A): Aligns sync markers of selected regions to the position of the cursor in the timeline.


Fade In (Shift + Comma ): Add and remove fades in.


Fade Out (Shift + Period): Add and remove fades out.



All fades you create will be graphically drawn on the screen and rendered in real time.


To change the length of a fade, using the fade selector, click on the desired starting point and drag it to the right (fade out) or desired ending point and drag it to the left (fade in).



4.10 Timeline Menu: 

The Timeline menu contains the edit tools and commands to help you navigate in the timeline.


Tool Selection: Choose between different tool options. These are also available in the Timeline Bar Menu.  You can find the arrow, scissors, fade and time stretch tools.

 

Auto Scroll: Auto Scroll will scroll further down the timeline when the cursor reaches the end.


Remove Empty Tracks (Option + Delete): Enables you to quickly remove unnecessary empty tracks in your timeline.


Consolidate Tracks (Option + Command +T): Allows you to organize all your tracks by track type.


Set In Point (I): Allows you to set an In point to start your loop or bounce.

 

Set Out Point (O): Allows you to set an Out point to end your loop or bounce.


Play From Selection (Option +Space): Playback starts from playhead of selected region.


Merge Tracks: Merge different regions into a single region. 

 


4.11 Window Menu: 

The Window Menu adapt the windows to your workspace.
